NEW BEGINNING CENTER TEAMS WITH GARLAND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO HOST BUSINESS SUMMIT
Family Violence Prevention Summit

(Garland, TX) - Every year, domestic violence contributes an estimated $8 billion in productivity losses to companies and businesses around the country. The effects of stalking, physical assault, rape, and homicide are directly related to employee absenteeism, diminished job performance, and lower job morale. The half-day Family Violence Prevention Summit will increase awareness of the effects of domestic violence as well as educate employers and management professionals on the most effective preventative measures.

New Beginning Center and the Garland Chamber of Commerce will be teaming up to host this half-day training on October 1, 2008 at the Special Events Center in Garland. For the cost of $10 per person, attendees will receive the training necessary to recognize signs of domestic violence and to implement a family violence prevention program in their own workplace.

Registration is available online at www.garlandchamber.com or by calling (972) 272-7551 ext.0. Check-in and refreshments will begin at 8:00 AM.

New Beginning Center fosters an environment of safety, support and respect for families affected by domestic violence and serves Garland and other cities in the east Dallas metropolitan area. Their 24-hour emergency hotline number is 972.276.0057.
